about

Harvey Miller, a longtime colleague of John Harrison, has played a key collaborative role in assimilating and managing the acquisitions and mergers that have made the two of them so successful in their approach to agency growth and profit.

Harvey began his agency management career in 1968 as VP and General Manager of Bursten Phillips, a Long Island advertising and public relations agency. In 1971, he helped engineer the formation of Phillips Miller Speyer & Frost (PMS&F), becoming a Principal, and its Exec. V.P. and General Manager. He directed the acquisition of Gamut Advertising in 1983, Graphic Artistry in 1989, and the same year became PMS&F’s CEO and President. He then began a search for a merger-minded individual who shared his vision for future growth. He found just such a person in John Harrison, CEO of Lowell/Harrison/Leifer. In 1997 they agreed to merge Lowell/Harrison/Leifer with PMS&F to form Harrison Leifer Miller & Speyer, with Harvey becoming Exec. V.P. and CFO.

Always looking for ways to grow their business, Harvey played a leading role in identifying and acquiring KRS Advertising, Erin/Edwards Communications and Howard Blankman Public Relations, which added the talent and resources necessary to transform Harrison Leifer DiMarco into the full-service advertising powerhouse it is today. Harvey successfully exited HLD in 2004 according to plan, and is now serving the advertising and public relations industry as a principal owner and strategist for Miller+Harrison Inc.

Harvey is a past Vice President and Board member of the Long Island Advertising Club, and one of the founders and past President of the Advertising Agency Council of Long Island.
